The film “Another Day of Life” is based on the book of the same title by the legendary Polish war correspondent Ryszard Kapuściński.
It tells the story of a journalist left to his own devices, writing about the civil war in Angola on the eve of independence in 1975. In the course of the journey the reporter realises he is witnessing events whose significance will require him to step outside the role of observer. To tell Angola’s story he will have to undergo a deep transformation himself. “Another Day of Life”, the book in which Kapuściński writes about his experiences in Angola, is the record of his rebirth both as a writer and as a man.
“The film is the result of an extraordinarily complex co-production involving many filmmakers and artists from several countries. We are delighted that such an unconventional combination of animated and documentary narrative has found recognition at Cannes,” says Jarosław Sawko, the film’s producer.
