The Ryszard Kapuściński Award
The Ryszard Kapuściński Award for Literary Reportage is an annual Polish literary prize established in 2010 by the Capital City of Warsaw in cooperation with Gazeta Wyborcza. Alicja Kapuścińska, the writer’s widow, became its honorary patron.
The award honours the legacy of Ryszard Kapuściński — one of the greatest Polish reporters and writers of the twentieth century — and recognises the finest works of literary reportage published in Poland, whether written by Polish or international authors.
The prize recognises both authors and translators. Publishers submit nominations; a five-member jury selects a longlist of ten titles and then a shortlist of five. The award ceremony takes place annually in Warsaw.
